I’m taking your advice and hitting the road, trying out some of the best fish and chip spots YOU recommended across the UK. First up is Murgatroyds, just outside of Leeds, which has been ranked one of the top spots according to TripAdvisor.

They cook in beef dripping - yes, the traditional way—and let me tell you, that’s where the magic happens. The rich, deep flavour it adds is the stuff of legends. They even fry their thick-cut chips in it, giving them this next-level crispy crunch.

Today, I’m digging into their famous haddock big’un with chips, and for £18.50, the portion is MASSIVE. It was enough to feed both me and my husband! The fish is so fresh, flaky, and just melts in your mouth, all while being perfectly crispy on the outside.

Oh, and the curry sauce? Totally different from what I’ve had before, but in the best way. And these chips? So crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with that savoury beef dripping flavour woven in every bite.
