The life of an unsung hero - inventor-entrepreneur GD Naidu, who was fondly known as the 'Edison of India', will now be told to the world in an upcoming biopic on him with actor Madhavan playing the titular role. Though he was just a third standard dropout, he is credited with co-developing India's first electric motor. His long list of inventions include a distance adjuster for film cameras, a tamper-proof vote recording machine, a fruit juice extractor, the pioneer behind the polytechnic method of learning and many more.



But, more than his inventions, he was a philanthropist who made people’s welfare a priority rather than building his own coffers. That’s why he even won the appreciation of Nobel laureate Sir CV Raman!
