Palenke Arts proudly presents award-winning singer-songwriter Ronkalunga from Baracoa/Guantánamo, Cuba. November 15, 2025
Ronaldo Rodríguez Hernández, born in eastern Cuba, the cradle of soneros and trovadores, founded Ronkalunga in 2018 as a tribute to his African and Caribbean roots. Blending traditional Cuban sounds with global genres like reggae, rock, funk, and pop, Ronkalunga creates a vibrant fusion of changüí, bolero, and trova. The result is a fresh, yet rooted sound that bridges cultures, honors heritage, and speaks to an international audience.
Palenke Arts is a multicultural arts organization whose mission is to educate, inspire and transform the community of Seaside through the arts. Our organization was founded in 2015 by a committed group of artists, educators and community members, led by Juan L. Sánchez.
We recognized the urgent need for multicultural arts and music programs and events in the city of Seaside, especially for the youth, and envisioned the creation of a multicultural arts center.
