The polar vortex at the end of January 2019 hit us extra hard here in Michigan. For a period of two days, windchill temps were consistently down to -30 degrees F. At some point it dipped all the way down to -40 F.
Worried about our goats, we fortified their straw hut shelter with some extra bedding, blocked as much of the wind as we could, and hung a blanket across the doorway. Would this be enough to protect our goats?
