Special Safety feature - Tunnel Emergency Plan:
After the experiences surrounding the fire catastrophes in the Austrian and French Alpine tunnels, special attention has been given to both the tunnel emergency evacuation plans
and fire protection. In addition to the free ability for emergency vehicles to drive over the tracks, a special feature was created for train stations: two load hoists for quick transport
and removal of vehicles.
Decisive in the selection of the Corkelast ERS (Embedded Rail System) was also the avoidance of risks of tripping along the tracks. In contrast to conventional track fastening systems, it is also important that rescue plans remain effective even during times of maintenance or/and renewal. Here, the Corkelast ERS (Embedded Rail System) does not require any other track covering plates which have to be installed and removed during maintenance and renewal periods (i.e. rail replacement).
