An homage to the masters of Islamic Patterns in art and architecture using 21st Century Post Digital Computer Video Animations in High Definition.
NOOR is the Arabic and Farsi word meaning Light.
We hope that NOOR can help serve as a bridge between cultures of the Western World and the Middle East and Muslim worlds, leading to mutual and increased understanding and appreciation.
NOOR blends the art and science of mathematics developed by the Masters in an earlier era with modern digital computers and high definition video synthesis, all in real time.
Directed by Steve Beck, University of California, Berkeley.
