The 27th of February marked the annivesray of the passing of struggle icon Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe. Founding leader of the Pan Africanist Congress. He led a nationwide protest against the hated Pass Law on 21 March 1960. Sobukwe was impriosned on Robben Isand, but he was kept in solitary confinement away from the other prisoners. Sobukwe was considered to be so dangerous by aparthied government that parliament enacted the "Sobukwe clause", a law that authorised the arbitrary extensions of Sobukwe's imprisonment.
