Relax and enjoy the satisfying sounds of the workshop as I handcraft a custom leather bracelet. This is a "No Talking" ASMR build—just the raw sounds of traditional leatherworking tools in action.
The Materials:
For this project, I am using Olmo Pueblo Vegetable Tanned Leather from the famous Badalassi Carlo tannery in Italy. Pueblo has a highly unique, rustic texture that burnishes beautifully over time. Because it is packed with oils straight from the factory, it requires absolutely no extra conditioning! To make the piece pop, I used a vibrant Yellow Vinymo #5 thread for the saddle stitch and repurposed a Compass Concho to act as a unique mechanical closure.
The Build Process:
I set my CS Osborne Wing Dividers to exactly 0.75" to mark the strap width, then made the long cut using an Al Stohlman Round Knife. To shape the strap, I rounded off one end using a CS Osborne English Point End Punch (3/4).
To give the bracelet a refined look, I used a Wuta #3 Edge Beveler to round over the sharp corners, followed by a heated creasing iron to add a decorative line along the perimeter.
Stitching & Finishing:
After marking my stitching lines, I punched the holes with stitching chisels and saddle-stitched the piece in my custom-made stitching pony. For the compass concho closure, I punched a precise hole using a 0.25" round punch. Finally, the edges were slicked using Clear Tokonole and a Since Leather (Tandy) burnishing tool, then polished to a glass finish with a non-woven cotton pad.
