After getting permission from the UAE government, the BAPS temple, which spans 27 acres, is situated in the Abu Mureikhah district, near the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway.
In 2015, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan donated 13.5 acres of land to construct the temple. Later, the UAE government further allocated another 13.5 acres of land for the temple in 2019. It is the Gulf region's largest Hindu temple, with three others in Dubai, UAE
