Sleeping Sexton | Massive Sneak Ledge Traverse | Maroon Bells, Pyramid Peak area | Aspen CO

Описание: This is one Adventure that is as Tough as it is beautiful with the Aspens in full force, and holds many similarities to the Maroon Bells Traverse, especially if doing this route from Buckskin Pass. Several 13er sub Peaks Stud the ridge line along the way, many reasonable class 3-4 sections will be encountered. The False Summit ascent was a minefield of steep loose rock leading to an unlikely and massively exposed Sneak Ledge Traverse that skirts a huge gash in the ridge. Amazingly, it was quite manageable at Class 3. Route finding along this lesser visited route can be somewhat challenging though there are many cairns at key locations. When in doubt go back to the last cairn you saw and only continue a few 100 yds until you find the next. You'll know if your off route rather quickly as the climbing becomes difficult loose and exposed quickly!
