Описание: Which is the best island to visit in the Philippines? I’ve lived in the Philippines over 3 years now. I’ve visited a number of the major cities, plus a handful of the smaller beach islands. Naturally I’m still way off seeing the vast amount of islands that the Philippines has to offer, but I do feel that I’ve already covered a number of gems.

If you were to ask me, out of all the destinations I’ve visited so far, which place would you like to return to and spend more time, there is clearly only one winner. Filipinos are friendly everywhere, but to me they’re even friendlier in Bohol. I spent almost a month on Bohol at the end of 2022.

Bohol has it all. Plenty to see and do. Beaches aplenty. An okay city in Tagbilaran.

Spent a week on Panglao Island, then spent 10 nights in the capital Tagbilaran, whilst visiting all the tourist spots that Bohol has to offer Before traversing across the island to Anda Beach.

I love big cities and if Tagbilaran had more to offer, I wouldn’t hesitate about making Bohol my permanent home. I had some great experiences on Bohol, met some wonderful people and have treasured memories of the place.

Six weeks after I’d left, I needed to use Bohol again as a connecting island whilst travelling from Mindanao to Dumaguete and was back in Tagbilaran for a morning. As soon as I arrived in the I met a friendly trike driver to drive me to the port. We had a good laugh and he didn’t try and rip me off, like at other places I visited in the Philippines. That says a lot about the people from Bohol.

So if you’ve only got a short space of time to visit the Philippines I advise you to visit Bohol. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

The Philippines should be on everyone’s bucket list with its beautiful white sand beaches, fabulous idyllic islands, turquoise sea and stunning scenery. The Philippines is a traveller’s paradise and regularly included in top ten favorite places to visit in Asia and affordable, favorite world holiday destination.

Many foreigners/expats choose the Philippines as the best country to retire in Asia and live in paradise. The Philippines is one of the cheapest countries to live in the world with its low cost of living and all year sunshine. Retiring in the Philippines is affordable on a budget of less than $1000 per month.

Filipinos are welcome and warm people. Filipinos are often regarded as the most friendliest nation in Asia and nicest people in the world. English is widely spoken throughout the country. The Philippines is included in the top ten English speaking countries in the world. The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends.
