No, Ruck's Pit and Beyond isn't the latest bathroom box store. But we did search for calcite clams at the Fort Drum Crystal Mine, also known as Ruck’s Pit, near Okeechobee, Florida. We also found some animal friends and looked at the impressive collection of calcite coral and clams in matrix rock tucked around the corner in the warehouse area. Finally, we used black light to show you how the fluorescence of the calcite and the clams themselves (pink!).
