Ken believes a global benchmark provides investors with a wider range of opportunities while reducing risks tied to a single country, region or sector. For example, the S&P 500, which represents 500 of the largest US companies, is heavily weighted toward Tech and Tech-related stocks. In contrast, Ken says non-US markets may have little-to-no Tech exposure. Therefore, Ken notes that if the Tech sector were to underperform over the coming years, the S&P 500 would likely underperform global stocks.
