12 miles off the coast of Maine, Monhegan Island feels like a world of its own. Just 64 people live there year-round, and it’s the kind of place that leaves you full.
It’s a haven for hikers, wanderers, and artists alike, with easels scattered across the island capturing windswept cliffs and wide blue skies. We spent the weekend savouring shrimp tacos from the Fish House, beachcombing at Fish Beach, sipping Maine blueberry soda, and ending each evening with Nite Nite Fatty’s, a dessert happy hour served from the porch of the Monhegan House.
We loved the slower pace and the salty air 🐚🌊🦪 it’s the kind of place that invites you to stay a little longer + quieter than your usual trip. A postcard-worthy stop for sure!
