BJP chief Amit Shah is in Bengal on a two-day trip where he visited several prominent religious sites and accused the Mamata Banerjee government of ignoring the culture of Bengal. In a bid to woo, Bengal's second largest SC community, Amit Shah will have lunch with Matua community members.
While visiting the Dakshineswar Kali Temple near Kolkata, Amit Shah said, “West Bengal is a land of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Thakur Ramakrishna Paramhans and Vivekananda. Appeasement politics has hurt the state's tradition. I urge people to fulfill their responsibilities to restore pride of the state which was centre of spiritual and religious awakening.”\
