Diana Ross' resurgence began in earnest two years earlier with the Chic produced 'Diana' and the huge successes with 'Upside Down', 'I'm Coming Out' and 'My Old Piano'. A massive #1 worldwide phenomenon occurred in 1981 with the duet 'Endless Love' (Lionel Richie) and another soundtrack hit occurred with 'It's My Turn and 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love' provided Diana with yet another hit single and album. ' So by the end of '82 Diana was oh so hot and with another record to issue - 'Silk Electric' which boasted an Andy Warhol designed cover and a hit single with the Michael Jackson co-penned and produced song 'Muscles'.

I have used an extended mix of 'Muscles' and a clip filled with buff boys and men and some beautiful pics of the Diva herself - Ms Ross. Always with her finger on the pulse of what was current, the gym made bodies in pop culture and fashion were all the rage in the 1980's and this slow burn R&B song afforded Diana with a Top 10 Pop; and a #15 in Britain. In Australia, 'Muscles' stalled at #50. It fared much better across the ditch in New Zealand (#18).

Diana Ross' revival continued for the rest of the 1980's including her massive hit with the Bee Gees produced 'Chain Reaction'. As recently as 2021, Diana issued a new album 'Thank You'. A true superstar and pop icon across 7 decades and no sign of slowing yet!
