The First Rule of Home Economics: Prevention

This first principle is Prevention, which is the idea that the most powerful way to save money isn’t coupons or cutting back, but preventing waste before it happens.

While I work in the kitchen preserving apples and tending to everyday homemaking tasks, we’ll talk about how prevention shows up in real life:

• preventing food waste
• maintaining what we already own
• using food at the right time
• building systems that reduce future expenses
• stewarding resources wisely at home

Home economics isn’t about perfection or deprivation, but about thoughtful management of what we’ve been given. And prevention is where it all begins.
