I set up the Steve the Math Buddha YouTube channel so that we can explore simpler ways to solve math problems. We will be investigating general mathematical concepts, and using them to come up with fun new solutions to math problems. The concepts we will be investigating can be used for SAT prep, ACT prep, GRE prep, Algebra Regents prep, Geometry Regents prep, Math Olympiad prep, and general high school math prep.

This first video of my "Who Needs Algebra Series" is broken down into two parts. In the first I show the classic solution to the basic cost mixture problem using traditional algebraic techniques to set up and manipulate a pair of simultaneous equations. In the second part I show a cool new way to solve cost mixture problems without using algebra.
