The first Pokémon game I ever played was Pokémon Crystal. I didn't own it myself but played frequently on my cousin's Game Boy Advance. At the time, he couldn't read, so I got to sit in the driver's seat while we repeatedly made our way to the Ilex forest, got stuck, and started over from the beginning. We didn't get far, but we heard the New Bark Town theme endlessly. And so, when I found out I had the opportunity to do a track from Pokémon G/S/C, I knew I had to tap into those memories to make this special arrangement of such a familiar tune!
