The lecturing staff at North Metropolitan TAFE in Perth have produced this training video as a tool for students to refer to when it comes calculating material length requirements while bending steel plate in a press brake.
Note: These calculations are performed manually and are used on press brake machinery pre dating CNC machines.
These bends are square bend calculations as opposed to radius bend calculations. When performing square bend calculations ensure that you always refer to this inside dimensions of the required bend as the material stretches if we were refer to the outside measurements.
These bend is performed on mild steel plate which is 3mm in thickness.
