I recently finished working on this.
It features stainless steel liners, solid stainless steel bolsters, black canvas micarta handles, all screw construction, adjustable pivot, and Teflon pivot washers.
It also has a thumb-press lock release, an internal blade-stop, and a mechanical safety with a spring ball plunger to hold it in the ON/SAFE position.
I always wondered if it would be possible to put the safety for a stiletto switchblade above the firing button instead of below. I never liked the low position of the Italian safeties. The safety in this knife was an experiment. As you can see, the experiment was a success.
The firing button is a stainless steel magazine release button for a 1911 pistol from Dawson Precision.
The blade-stop guarantees that the edge of the blade cannot hit the spring no matter how far the blade is pressed into the handle.
There isn't a lot of extra room in a stiletto for a blade-stop, so I had to cut a relief notch in the side of the ricasso so the knife would close. I really wanted a blade-stop. The tip of the blade sits deep below the edge of the liners when the knife is closed (3 mm), and there is less than a millimeter of space between the edge of the blade and the spring. I don't like having to gingerly close a switchblade to avoid hitting the spring, I like to just squeeze the blade all the way in without thinking about it. So I installed the blade-stop.
Like all of the switchblades I build, this knife locks up tight, with no hint of blade-play or lock-play. The pivot screw is tightened snug in this video.
This knife is not currently for sale.
