The evaporator fan motor removes the heat by moving air through the evaporator coils and distributes cooled air throughout the refrigerator.
A bad evaporator fan motor can lead to problems such as the refrigerator not cooling down, ice and frost building up on the evaporator panel, and water leaking inside the fridge.

Before replacing the fan motor, unplug the refrigerator and let it defrost completely. Otherwise, you can break the evaporator panel or styrofoam underneath during removal.

Other reasons that could lead to the fridge not cooling, having ice build-up, or leaking water are a bad magnetic door sensor (switch), bad control board, bad defrost sensor, bad defrost heater.
