India Says Indus Treaty Outdated, Slams Pakistan At UN Over Terror And Cooperation

Описание: India strongly defended its position on the Indus Waters Treaty at the United Nations, arguing that a country accused of using terrorism as a policy tool cannot simultaneously expect the benefits of cooperation built on trust and goodwill.

Speaking at the UN, First Secretary Anupama Singh said the treaty, signed in 1960, cannot be viewed as a perpetual entitlement immune from changing realities and accountability. She asserted that the agreement must be considered in the context of major transformations over the past six decades and criticized Pakistan for raising the issue while ignoring its own internal challenges.

India also accused Pakistan of engaging in recurring political theatrics at international forums, reiterating New Delhi's long-standing concerns regarding cross-border terrorism and bilateral relations.
