Launched back in 2008 as the “Mileage Maharaja” or the king of mileage, in iterations such as petrol and CNG-propelled vehicles, the TVS King three-wheeler has garnered significant success. Today, built around this success, the TVS King range has evolved to take the form of an electric rickshaw named “King EV Max”. The new TVS King EV Max is launched at Rs 2.95 lakh (ex-showroom). TVS King EV Max: What Makes It Unique?

The New TVS King electric three-wheeler borrows many of the design elements seen on the King range of passenger and cargo carriers. The vehicle comes with LED headlights and tail lights, similar to the King Duramax Plus, but with a more aggressive contour and styling. But, styling is not only the factor that deems it as a unique three-wheeler. The vehicle offers top-class safety with a chassis-mounted rear bumper, and a wide windshield, along with a tough body and chassis construction and passenger safety doors.

Incorporating maintenance-free electrical accessories and wiring, and a solid electric powertrain setup, the King EV Max should also have low maintenance requirements. As for specifications, the King EV Max three-wheeler comes with dimensions measuring 2780 mm in length, 1320 mm in width and 1800 mm in height. The vehicle is also compact with a wheelbase measuring 2000 mm. Apart from this, the vehicle has a 185 mm ground clearance and 31 percent gradeability to tackle steep inclines, like flyovers, with ease.

Moreover, what makes this vehicle truly unique is its 179 km certified driving range. In ideal conditions, this means that drivers and small businesses can use the vehicle for continuous operations. What enables it to offer such figures? It’s the three-wheeler’s permanent magnet synchronous motor and a 9.2 kWh capacity battery pack. This unit also helps the vehicle generate 11kW of power and 40 Nm of peak torque. To make things more interesting the vehicle is offered with Bluetooth connectivity features, first-in-the segment.

The TVS King EV Max three-wheeler comes with an adequate list of features for driver comfort and convenience and to enhance safety. It gets multiple storage spaces, twin LED headlights for better night-time visibility, a smartphone charging socket, a digital instrument cluster, a single-stop-start switch, and passenger safety doors. Additionally, the vehicle gets three drive modes: Eco, City and Power. Eco and City enable the vehicle to clock speeds of 40 and 50 kmph, respectively. Meanwhile, in Power mode, the vehicle can reach speeds of up to 60 kmph. These modes can be engaged as per the driving environments and conditions. The power mode is when the driver wishes to drive the vehicle at its full potential. Meanwhile, eco and city modes are ideal for easily navigating through city traffic conditions.

Apart from these, as mentioned earlier, the vehicle comes with TVS ‘SmartXonnect’ Bluetooth connectivity. This enables its users to access functionalities like real-time navigation, and vehicle diagnostics, along with alerts through the smartphone.
