Fingerstyle Fun with "Mama I'm Coming Home" by Ozzy Osbourne

In today's lesson I show a fun fingerstyle groove inspired by the intro to Ozzy Osbourne's 1991 hit "Mama I'm Coming Home".

As I state in my video, this is NOT a full song lesson! Lots of other folks on YouTube have that handled already. Instead, I'm taking the beautiful intro sequence and teaching you my own spin on it using harmonized 6ths (in standard tuning).

While this is not the exact way it's played on Ozzy's recording, it still captures the melodic spirit of the song. I'm sharing this to demonstrate the sort of fun you can have with guitar... take an amazing song, make it your own, and get lost in the groove.

While you could indeed play this with a pick, I'll be using a fingerstyle — and I'll walk you through the approach I'm using step-by-step. All in all, this makes for a fun bite-sized groove you can settle into while working on your fingerstyle technique and/or harmonized double-stops. Enjoy!
