Reupholstering a storage ottoman with ZERO experience! In this DIY furniture makeover, I transform my standard grey ottoman to perfectly match my living room sofa.
I love this storage ottoman (especially the flip-top wooden coffee table tray!), but the color just wasn't working anymore. As an absolute beginner at upholstery, I looked at this project and thought: "How hard can it be?" Well, it was full of surprises—from dealing with hundreds of factory staples, to glued-down cardboard rings, to playing "fabric tetris" with my last remaining scraps of material.
Watch me strip this piece down to the frame and rebuild it. Did I make mistakes? Yes. Did I almost run out of fabric? Definitely. But I am so happy with the final high-end, custom look!

Staple gun & staples
Flathead screwdriver & pliers (for removing old staples)
Wood glue & Spray adhesive
Leftover upholstery fabric
Sewing machine
