Russia Ukraine War: In the deadliest aerial assault since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched 550 drones and missiles at Ukraine — just hours after a phone call with former U.S. President Donald Trump. The coordinated overnight strike targeted Kyiv with 63 Iranian-made Shahed drones, Kh-101 cruise missiles, and Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
Ukraine’s air defenses, including the U.S.-supplied Patriot PAC-3, NASAMS, IRIS-T, and Soviet-era S-300 systems, managed to intercept 270 threats. However, 208 projectiles vanished from radar, jammed by Russian electronic warfare — leading to direct hits on eight key sites including power substations, air defense radars, and railway infrastructure.
