This movies is an auditory discrimination training for zebrafish using operant conditioning.
When fish swim through the observing gate, either a sound trial or a no-sound trial is initiated.
If the fish entered the reinforcement compartment during a sound trial (i.e., a hit), fish was reinforced with food (decapsulated brine shrimp eggs) delivered by an automated feeder.
If fish entered the reinforcement compartment during a no-sound interval (i.e., a false alarm), the trial was terminated and followed by a 20-s timeout. If no response occurred either during sound trials (i.e., a miss), or during no-sound trials (i.e., a correct rejection), the trial was ended.
In this movies, no false alarm and no miss are recorded. A playing speed of waiting "observing response" is speeded up 8 times.
