I was prepping a batch of raw EC sci-fi books for my Shortboxed store when I stopped on Weird Fantasy 17.
It’s a low-grade copy, but opening it up reminded me why EC’s best stories still hold up—especially one quietly brilliant meta-sci-fi piece drawn by Al Williamson and scripted by Al Feldstein.
I walk through the stories in the issue, then spend time on the Ray Bradbury adaptation “There Will Come Soft Rains,” including the real-world history behind its most haunting image.
