Mixed Dal Curry Recipe
Ingredients:

Mixed dal (urad dal, chana dal, toor dal, masoor dal) - 1 cup
Water - 3 cups
Salt - as needed
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Ginger - 1-inch piece, finely chopped
Garlic - 4-5 cloves, finely chopped
Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
Green chilies - 2, slit
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida (hing) - a pinch
Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Prepare the Dal:
1. Wash 1 cup of mixed dal thoroughly.
2. Add the washed dal, 3 cups of water, and salt to a pressure cooker.
3. Cook for 8 whistles or until the dal is fully cooked
Prepare the Tadka:
1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil/ghee in a pan.
2. Add chopped ginger and garlic, onions, green chilies and curry leaves, and sauté for a minute.
3. Add turmeric powder and asafoetida, and stir well.
Combine Dal and Tadka:
1. Pour the prepared tadka into the cooked dal.
2. Mix well and bring the curry to a boil. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Garnish the dal curry with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice, roti, or bread.
