This makes TEM a powerful tool to investigate the structure-property relationships of materials, and helps guide the development and improvement of materials. The versatility of TEM allows the study of nearly all materials, including polymers, ceramics, metals, proteins, and more. This presentation introduces users to the basics of TEM, including a brief overview of instrumentation, image formation, applications of TEM, and limitations of the technique
