The Wilton E. Scott Institute of Energy Innovation and Pitt Swanson School of Engineering co-hosted a virtual seminar with Karthish Manthiram.
Karthish Manthiram discussed research being conducted in the Manthiram Lab. The utilization of renewable electricity to power chemical synthesis could pave the way for synthetic methods that operate in safe conditions and employ environmentally friendly inputs. The goal is to develop an electrosynthetic toolkit that can convert water, renewable electricity, and other elements into a variety of fuels, chemicals, and materials. Findings from this presentation will explore electrosynthetic transformations that could lead to the production of key chemicals and materials locally and on demand.
