Today we discuss the infamous Siege of Malta.

In 1565, the Ottoman Empire launched one of the largest amphibious assaults in history — forty thousand soldiers sent to erase a tiny island fortress from the map. Waiting for them were just a few hundred Knights of St. John, a handful of Maltese villagers, and their faith.

What followed was a brutal four-month siege that would decide the fate of the Mediterranean. Cannons roared, walls crumbled, and entire fortresses were reduced to ash — yet the defenders refused to kneel.

The Siege of Malta became a symbol of courage against impossible odds, a battle where duty meant more than survival, and where the old world of chivalry met the new age of empire.
