I thought it would be fun to share all the supplements that I've been using for marathon build as I prep for the Vancouver Marathon. Supplements are only a tiny piece of the pie when it comes to recovery. I think my recovery has reach new heights also because of less stress and better sleep. Below are the main supplements I use to help my training and recovery.
MSM powder- I've been using this for years! Can help with joint pain, but I mostly use it to help reduce muscle soreness.
BCAA- This marathon build is my first time taking branch chain amino acids. I've been using the Alani Nu brand daily and the flavors are delicious!
OptygenHP from First Endurance- contains adaptogens, beta-alanine and is my top supplement. A bit pricey but well worth the money in my opinion.
Sunwarrior Plant based protein- I add this into my daily smoothies. A bit more expensive than other options but easily my favorite plant based protein.
Whey Isolate- My go to smoothie addition immediately post workout to quickly kickstart the recovery process.
Tailwind Nutrition Rebuild- I use this to recover from workouts when I can't get home in time to make my smoothie. Not committed to this brand, but it works great!
