Can you reload a revolver in the dark without looking at the cylinder? Try our Plague Mask reload!
Lacking a suitable blindfold, I demonstrate a revolver reload technique using a Halloween replica 17th-century bird-beak plague doctor mask that prevents me looking down at my reload.
While similar to the Mas Ayoob's Stressfire reload and others cupping the speedloader with the fingers forward of the cartridges, with the method I've adopted only the index finger is forward. So long as you grasp the speed loader with the index finger positioned between any two adjacent cartridges, meeting the support thumb with the index finger at a flute on cylinder and pressing lightly with the pad of the finger aligns all the rounds (starting with the top two) with the cylinder chambers.
I've tried the traditional cupping with four fingers ahead of the bullet noses indexing the middle finger in the flute. That works relatively fine indexing the rounds at the cylinder but never feels as secure when grasping and retrieving the speed loader from Comp-Tac carrier on my belt. Grasping with just the index finger forward of the bullet noses leaves my middle and ring fingers free to wrap firmly around the body of the speed loader providing a firm grasp from the carrier.
With either approach indexing at the cylinder flute by feel enables keeping your head up, enhancing situational awareness, seeing where your moving and visually acquired the next target (in the context of practical shooting competition).
There are countless ways to reload a revolver using a speed loader, differing depending whether your left-or-right handed, eject the rounds holding the revolver in your dominant or support hand, how you hold the cylinder open; eject the rounds with your thumb or slap with the palm of your hand. Which one works best for anyone depends on the size of the revolver, the size of your hands and length of your fingers. If you're shooting really hot loads you may also favor a technique that keeps your fingers from getting burned and away from the forcing cone. I'm including others' videos for some of the more popular techniques, which I have found informative:

Some techniques are better suited to full-size revolvers, while others are specific to snubbies. I included several covering the same techniques as the content creators may describe them somewhat differently. Try them and see what works best for you.
