$lashers Soundtrack - Martin Gauthier

Описание: Music upload which I realize I've neglected lately. This one is the score to an obscure horror movie. More noisy underground stuff on the way soon, including some rarities that almost nobody (even the weirdest audio phile friends I have) will remember from years gone by.



$lashers was a 2001 direct to DVD horror film distributed in the US by Fangoria. Hopes were high for it as it was an ambitious rework of the whole "Most Dangerous Game" premise set in the near future where a sadistic game show featuring"$lashers" slaughtering contestants for real. It was timed well with reality TV conquering pretty much all of the big networks in prime time and the negative effects that could have on society being on many people's minds. In execution, it didn't quite work out, but I thought it was interesting and reviewed it positively in a zine I wrote for back then. What I really liked about it was Martin Gauthier's score, which has kind of a John Harrington's Creepshow vibe to it but with a more modern, futuristic sound. I don't believe you can get it anywhere on record; this rip is from a bonus feature on the deluxe DVD where you can play the songs from the menu. That DVD is also the best place to see the movie if you can find it, it's not streaming anywhere legit I could discover.
