Theresienwiese is a station on the U4 and U5 lines.
The station opened on March 10, 1984.

Fun Facts:
Theresienwiese station is best known as the main U-Bahn stop for the Oktoberfest - the world's largest beer festival, held just above the station grounds every autumn. During the festival, the station handles enormous crowds, with extra trains and special crowd-control measures in place. A unique supervisor's booth sits in the center of the platform, allowing staff to manage passenger flow during peak Oktoberfest traffic.
The station’s bold black-and-yellow color scheme (echoing Munich’s city colors) and its vaulted, tent-like architecture are a playful nod to the festival atmosphere above. The walls are adorned with eight cheerful panels by Ricarda Dietz, featuring fairground attractions rather than food, and the heavy granite construction gives the station a solid, cellar-like feel.
