Judge Stephanie Boyd presides over the sentencing of Defendant Vincent Gonzales in the 187th District Court.
Defendant Gonzales, 37, faced multiple charges of theft enhanced by prior prison terms. Despite an emotional plea for probation to "break the cycle" of incarceration and care for his elderly mother, Judge Boyd assessed the defendant's continuous criminal activity throughout 2025. The court assessed a 6-year prison sentence for each cause number, to be served concurrently, and ordered $2,799 in restitution to Lowe's. Strict conditions were imposed, including a prohibition on residing with minors and a recommendation for the Therapeutic Community program to address underlying issues.
