Hazards are one of the core concern of safety management system. A hazard: Is a condition, such as an object, situation, circumstance, that poses an unacceptable level of danger; Occurs once in the safety mishap lifecycle; Can lead directly to risk occurrence (i.e., safety mishap, accident, etc.)
HIRA: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment. HIRA is a process that consists of a number of sequential steps such as hazard identification, consequence & frequency assessment, risk estimation based on the existing controls and recommendations to reduce those risks which are not under acceptable limits.
