When bonding core packages in the foundry industry, iron foundries primarily use polyamides.
Polyolefins or EVA adhesives are used in aluminium foundries. The demands on the adhesives used in sand casting or in the bonding of core packages are extremely high.
The hot-melt adhesives require a wide open time window with a short setting time.
The short setting time combined with a high initial strength enables a rapid further handling of the cores produced in the cold-box or hot-box process.
