The Enfields were an American garage rock/psychedelic band from Wilmington, Delaware that was active from 1964-1967. The band formed in 1964 when several members of two different Wilmington, Delaware bands named The Playboys and The Touchstones merged together. When it came time to name the band, the new group wanted to find something decidedly English, so in keeping with the popular British Invasion currently in vogue, they chose the name The Enfields in honor of the famous British rifle named after the London Borough of Enfield. Between 1966-1967 the band released four singles all on the Richie record label. The very talented Ted Munda, one of the bands guirtarist’s, wrote the majority of their songs. The group split up when their vocalist Charlie Berl was drafted in 1967. The original 45 ‘She Already Has Somebody/I’m For Things You Do’ was released in 1966. In 2021 Hyperloop Records re-issued the 45 in an excellent remastered package, it sounds great and looks great as well.
