Watch highlights from the action in Phillipsburg’s 47-12 victory over arch rival Easton in the 116th meeting between the two schools on Thanksgiving Day 2023.
On Thanksgiving Day, Big Central Gridiron traveled to Pennsylvania and Lafayette College in Easton to see the annual Turkey Day Rivalry Game between Phillipsburg and Easton.
Led by Game MVP John Wargo (13 carries for 160 yards and 3 TDs, 2 catches for 29 yards, and 2 sacks), the Stateliners cruised past the Red Rovers, 47-12 for their 2nd straight win in the series.
Sophomore RB Sam Dech turned in a hig day on the ground as well with 9 carries for 138 yards including these TD runs of 50 and 75 yards in the 3rd quarter.
Junior QB Jett Genovese also rushed for two TDs while junior LB Jayden Lucas helped anchor the defense with 15 total tackles. Dorian Thomas was a bright spot in a losing cause for Easton with 28 rushes for 135 yards and 2 TDs
