After a whole year of creating content on social media, one question keeps popping up: "How did you learn Finnish?!" Well, finally, here it is: my little tricks that helped me survive this wild but rewarding Finnish-learning journey. 🪄✨

During my first 8-9 months in Finland, I attended a Finnish school, which gave me a good foundation in basic grammar structures. But when I started working, I had to pause the course. 😅 No worries, though—learning didn’t stop there!

These days, I’m sticking to lessons with the wonderful Finnish queen, Varpu Rusila from @herfinland. Her Conversational Finnish for Beginners course is just top:

What else has helped me? There we go:

💡 Rewriting texts in Finnish and translating them to English—our hands have memory!

🎶 Listening to Finnish music and rewriting lyrics. My first song was CHA CHA CHA (yep, I understood piña colada and that's it prkl 😂), but little by little, I dived into Finnish music. Now? I can even translate Tequilakahvi! 🍹☕

🗣️ Speaking as much as possible. I had no one to practice with, so I turned to social media! If that’s not your vibe, try reading texts out loud. Our mouths also have memory—pronouncing words makes them easier to remember later.

The key? ✨DON’T BE AFRAID TO MAKE MISTAKES✨. Enjoy the process. Every tiny step forward is progress. Learning any language can be scary, but it’s also one of the most rewarding adventures you’ll ever have. 🌟
