Mario Vušković is a talented centre-back with excellent vision, ball-controlling techniques, and passing ability. Starting at RNK Split, he joined the Croatian giants Hajduk Split in 2016 and later moved to Hamburger SV in 2021.
Mario was born to a football family. His father Daniel, grandfather Mario, and great-grandfather Marko were all football players. His brother Luka, currently on loan at Hamburger SV from Tottenham Hotspur, is widely regarded as one of the world’s top young talents.
In late 2022, Mario got suspended for doping though he later passed a lie detector test, was examined with no injection marks found, and a search of his apartment, phone, and laptop revealed no evidence of procuring any prohibited substances.
