Happy 2026, everyone!
Let's start this year – which will, undoubtedly, be another year of inconsistent uploading and maybe even months-long breaks – with a collection. Here's a montage of CDC's 'Tips from Former Smokers' ads, which are a diverse bunch, ranging inspiring to sad to outright terrifying. Ah, what a lovely campaign, isn't it?
RIP Terrie, Nathan, Tonya and countless others who've lost their lives to smoking. Even though these ads are in no particular order, I like how the last ad features a kid who hasn't contributed to his own illness caused by smoking. It's in other people's hands, too, and the future that countless children have either on Tobacco Road to a myriad of illnesses or a healthy smoke-free life is up to us as a society to decide.
