What is the Abyss? Why do humans turn Hollow after death? And what role does the Dark Soul play in all this?

I use the philosophy underpinning Buddhism to offer an explanation as to the nature of the Dark Souls world and the deeper meaning behind it's basic concepts. Enjoy!
