Tons of leagues erupt and fade off in the Indian Sports ecosystem. So what's different about the Telangana Pro Basketball League?
Basketball as a sport has found it difficult to find its footing among a mass audience in the Indian Sports Ecosystem. Chaos, politics, lack of infrastructure and proper plan has killed the growth of the sport. Amongst all this, TPBL managed to land Six Franchise Owners through a live auction/bidding process, with the top two teams being sold for over 25lakhs along with a live player auction. The highest paid player of the season was sold for 2.50lakh rupees.
How did they do it? What's the money being used for? Well we find out talking to the "Pillar" of the league, who once wanted to be a Cricketer, then went on to play Basketball for the Indian National Basketball Team.
