What to Expect 🔍



Permanent bonuses in Baldur's Gate 3 are rare and often overlooked. A prime example is the BOOOAL's Blessing condition, which provides the wielder with an advantage on attack rolls against bleeding creatures, provided there are still Kuo-toa worshipping BOOOAL. In simpler terms, you must keep them alive after acquiring BOOOAL's Blessing, as the buff vanishes if all Kuo-toa in The Festering Cove are eliminated.

It's important to note that only characters who are present and part of the active party when the Benediction is activated will receive the buff. Those who are at camp or not included in the party roster will not benefit from it, and the effect cannot be reapplied later.

And of course, it’s possible to gain the buff without sacrificing a companion, and there are - or at least there were - several straightforward methods to do so. You could explore various dialogue choices, lure Pooldripp away from the altar, or pickpocket the Sickle of BOOOAL from Pooldripp, among other tactics. However, after experimenting with all these methods in my new Patch 8 playthrough, I found that pickpocketing is the only dependable option. In this video, I’ll share the technique that I find to be the simplest and most efficient.

The main strategy involves using two different characters for the conversation and the pickpocketing. First, ungroup your party and leave your best thief behind. Start the conversation with another character. Then, during the dialogue, switch back to your thief and take the Sickle of BOOOAL from Pooldripp. And that’s it! By continuing the conversation and selecting the dialogue options presented in this video, you will secure the permanent BOOOAL's Blessing buff for all your party members!
