Police kill man who 'trained' Dhaka cafe attackers
Bangladesh police have killed a man they believe trained the militants who carried out the deadly Dhaka cafe attack. Yiming Woo reports.
This ambulance carries the body of a man known as Murad, killed by Bangladesh police in a shootout.
He's believed to have trained the militants who attacked a cafe in Dhaka on July 1st that killed 22 people, most of them foreigners.
Police launched a raid after they were tipped-off to his location just outside the capital.
Officials say four officers were wounded when 'Murad' attacked them with machetes, a pistol and grenades.
His death came nearly a week after that of the mastermind of the Dhaka attack when police stormed his hideout.
Islamic State claimed responsibility for the siege in Dhaka's diplomatic quarter, one of the most brazen attacks to hit Bangladesh.
The government says neither Islamic State nor al Qaeda have a presence in the Muslim-majority country.
Some security experts say the scale and sophistication of the attack point to links to a trans-national network.
