The Standing Cable Crunch is an effective core exercise that targets the abdominal muscles, particularly the rectus abdominis. Here's a breakdown of how to perform the exercise:
Set up the Cable Machine
Attach a rope or handle to the high pulley on the cable machine.
Set the weight according to your fitness level.
Position Your Body
Stand facing the machine with your feet shoulder-width apart.
Grab the rope or handle with both hands and pull it down so that your arms are extended above your head.
You can step back slightly to create tension in the cable.
Engage Your Core
Stand upright with a slight bend in your knees. Engage your core muscles to prepare for the movement.
Keep your head neutral, avoiding excessive tilting.
Perform the Crunch
Exhale as you bend at your waist, pulling the cable down toward your knees.
Contract your abs as you crunch, bringing your elbows down toward your knees (or as low as you can comfortably go).
Squeeze your core at the bottom of the movement.
Return to Starting Position
Slowly return to the starting position by allowing your upper body to rise back up while maintaining tension on the cable.
Inhale as you extend back up, but don’t fully release the tension on the cable.
